7:30 pm Friday through 5:00 pm Sunday
Christian Experience Weekend (CEW) is a retreat for the average
Christian adult age 18 or over. Men's and Women's weekends are held
separately. This is a wonderful opportunity to take time away from the hectic schedules of daily life to experience the "fullness of life" and the joy which Jesus came to bring us. Participants spend time together renewing their Christian faith. A team of lay people, a priest, and a spiritual director conduct the CEW weekend. While Pax Christi Catholic church is hosting this event, all denominations are welcome. The weekends take place at the beautiful Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch in Stewartville, Minnesota. Nestled in a quiet forest setting, the fully handicap accessibly Miracle Lodge will house the retreat. The registration fee is $115 and includes all meals, snacks, bedding, and lodging.

Salvation Army Outdoor Band Concert
The Rochester Salvation Army will hold its second outdoor concert of the summer. The event will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2008 from 4-6pm. The Salvation Army’s local choir, band, and worship team will perform outside of the community center building, located at 20 First Ave. NE. There is no fee for the concert and refreshments will be served. All are welcome to attend and enjoy great music and some early fall weather! In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved inside the community center.

Kasson Area Women's Fellowship and Encouragement
Kasson Area Women's Fellowship and Encouragement begins it's Fall Bible study series Tuesday September 9th at the Kasson Church of Christ. This fall we are doing a series called, "Pondering the Parables" and applying Christ's principles to our every day lives. Every Tuesday morning from 9 - 11 a.m., there will be coffee, treats, ice breakers, worship music, a Bible lesson taught by Marette Jorgenson and small group break out times with discussion and prayer emphasis. 21st Annual Harvest Classic
The 21st Annual Harvest Classic, a running race and charity walk to benefit the Channel One Food Bank and Food Shelf will take place on Saturday, September 13th at Silver Lake Park in Rochester, MN. Registration begins at 7:30 AM. The event is sponsored by the Mayo Medical School AMA and features a 5K race and 1 mile Kids Fun Run with cash and prizes for winners. Come join the hundreds of other runners/walkers who have made this an exciting and wonderful event for over 20 years! All proceeds are donated directly to Channel One, a local organization that helps feed people in need, including homebound seniors, people with disabilities, and struggling families. Rochester Area Youth for Christ Bible Quizzing
The season kickoff for Rochester Area Youth for Christ Bible Quizzing will be 7 p.m. Saturday, September 13, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2911 18th Ave. NW in Rochester.
You’re invited to see a Bible Quizzing demonstration and receive information on the 2008-2009 season. Entertainment will be provided by magician Bob Miller. Refreshments will be served. Admission is free.
Bible Quizzing helps youth learn Scripture in a fun, game-show format. Divided into Little League (sixth grade and younger) and A/B League (seventh grade and older), quizzers compete monthly from October through March. This season, quizzers will study Luke.
